Christopher is a 15-year-old autistic boy who is mathematically gifted. He decides to write his story after discovering the neighbourís dog, which has been killed with a pitch-fork. He investigates the killing which leads to some heart-felt discoveries about his own mother and father.
Christopher runs away from home and embarks on a journey from Swindon to London. This is a mammoth task for Christopher, considering he has never been anywhere by himself or been on a train or tube, cannot bear to be with strangers, has a strong dislike of anything brown or yellow.
Superb, warm, humorous, touching book for young adults and adult readers: 4/5
